Poll: What Americans (Don’t) Know
Americans were asked about current events, history and cultural literacy. The results weren’t encouraging. Belief that Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11 increased, and a majority of Americans were unable to pick Saudi Arabia in a multiple-choice question about the country where most of the 9/11 hijackers were born.

White House exerts executive privilege on documents
The White House, moving toward a constitutional showdown with Congress, asserted executive privilege Thursday and rejected lawmakers’ demands for documents that could shed light on the firings of federal prosecutors. Bush’s lawyer says he does it “with much regret.”
